HISPANIC POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE OF SILICON VALLEY (HPACSV) Hispanic Political action Committee Silicon Valley’s aims are to form a strong political voice and to seek political alliances to influence policy makers and legislation affecting Hispanic business. In addition, Hispanic Political action Committee Silicon Valley will build and sustain an effective pro-business advocacy organization to support candidates and issues, regardless of their political affiliation, that have demonstrated their support for the development of Hispanic business. Your profitability is directly affected by lawmakers’ decision in areas ranging from taxation to workers’ compensation to health care. Government policy not only affects your business, it also affects the bottom line of your clients and customers. HPACSV is an independent political organization with strong overlap of membership with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley. However, the two organizations are separate, with separate bylaws, requirements for memberships, and funding streams. Like many organization in Silicon Valley, HPACSV is a start-up. Starting with initial commitments from its Board of Directors, HPACSV will begin raising money in fall of 2007- in order to best position itself to influence political races in 2008. HPACSV accepts contributions from both individuals and corporations. The fundraising goal for the 2008 election year is $50,000.
